Brothers And Co Workers,
I finally got a ruling concerning the real estate tax exemption
when the Lodge is renting or leasing the Lodge Home. Bad news
if you are renting or leasing the new tax law does not apply to
you at all and you do not get any of the benefits that are attached.
Parenthetically neither does your landlord or leaseholder, I made
sure that was covered in the ruling, I was not about to have them
benefit and not us.

the future as Big Ray has agreed to post new happenings on it as
soon as I get them to him, then click to our link and get the new
skinny. Speaking of new skinny I just went down and got the new
Information Sheet for the tax exemption and the new Claim For
Property Tax Exemption forms, you can download them from our
link. I am also going to post the timing of everything that has to
happen so we get the exemptions, remember I gave this to the
District Presidents at the last convention.
Frankly I am not too confident we are going to meet these deadlines,
we have the Council and the convention coming up and they take a
lot of time. Please remember that the claims must be in by 5PM
Thursday, March 1, if they are not the law states it will be assumed
a waiver of claim. I have been graciously granted the cooperation
of our beloved Arizona Goon Squad by our State President, if you
need help of any kind please consult them or little old me.
Due to the financial condition of most of our Lodges there is
absolutely nothing that should take precedence over getting
this job done now. District Presidents and Governors should be
aware that this project is being watched closely by the Head
Shed for its local importance and nationally for the good of
the Fraternity.
